I'm not sure why this hotel gets good reviews other than it was clean. The hotel is very dated and is really basic. The breakfast was reasonable although all warm foods were of poor quality. For half the price I would have been reasonably happy but for the same price you can stay in the Tyssedal Hotel which is far superior and only 10 minutes down the road. Please don't book the Hardanger unless you want to pay over the odds for a budget hotel.
City center hotel, probably from 1960's or so. Clean and equipped with what you need, but you will notice the age of the building in many guestrooms. Nice reception and breakfast areas. Not the largest breakfast buffé, but good quality and taste in what there is. Excellent service in booking and reception. A few minutes walk to the city shopping street with a some nice places to dine. Try "Ferskvaren".
I loved my stay at Hardanger Hotel, very close from de bus station, max. 1 minute walk. The breakfast is awesome and it starts quite early. I had a single room with private bathroom and, although the furniture was old, everything was clean. Thank you to the staff that allowed me to check-in earlier, it was appreciated!

I got this hotel for 2 nights to hike the Trolltunga. It was very inexpensive, however kind of a dump. My shower set off the alarms and I got a stern talking to by the front desk manager. Breakfast is just inedible.
Nice family owned hotel with personal service. Basic hotel but clean, comfortable bed. Booked a single room
since the hotel was fully booked, we only got a suite at a reasonable price. this was on the top floor with a correspondingly beautiful view from the balcony. the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was super equipped. unfortunately, it had no refrigerator - not even a suite... the breakfast buffet was awesome!
Loved my stay. Amazing views from the room. Great atmosphere. Friendly helpful staff that went out their way to put together some must sees (restaurants sight seeing). Helped with booking transport. Can't recommend enough.
